SATYRICON has been making their brand of black metal since 1990 and has changed their sound a few times since their conception. At first, they were strictly black metal with themes of the medieval age then they implemented some industrial metal influence. In recent years, the duo of vocalist/multi-instrumentalist Satyr and drummer Frost have chosen to simplify the band’s sound in a way that strips everything to the bone as well as a slower pace for a very much straightforward and efficient approach.
