ALCEST was founded in 1999 as a straightforward black metal band. The band quickly evolved into a blackmetal-meets-shoegaze project when two original members left, turning the band into multi-instrumentalist Neige’s project. Forget the dark, raw and cold black metal from the early days. Now, this is about dreamy progressive song structures, stellar musicianship, hallucinogenic and gentle sounds.
